Terms of use
Updated 2026-10-18. Using CardBox means you accept these terms.
The short version
CardBox helps collectors catalog, value and share their trading cards. Using the site or the app means you are fine with these terms. They are written to be read, not to trip you up.
Your account
One account per person, and you look after your own sign-in. You need to be at least 13 to use CardBox.
You can stop using CardBox at any time. Use Report a problem in the app if you want your account removed.
Your photos and uploads
The photos you upload stay yours. By uploading, you give CardBox permission to store, crop, copy, display, adapt and share them, now and in the future, anywhere in the world, without charge. That includes using a good scan as the picture everyone sees for that card in the catalog, and using photos and your corrections to make card recognition better.
Please only upload photos you took yourself or are allowed to share. Photos of the card's front and back are what we need; nothing else.
Your collection is listed under an anonymous alias. Your name and email are never shown publicly. You can turn public sharing off in Settings.
Card names and artwork
Card names, artwork and logos belong to their publishers. CardBox shows them to identify and describe cards, the way a price guide does. CardBox is not affiliated with any publisher.
Values are estimates
A value in CardBox is an estimate built from sales and listings we have seen. It is not an offer, a guarantee, or financial advice. Prices move; check before you buy or sell.
Playing fair
Please do not scrape the site, overload it, upload other people's photos without their permission, or use CardBox to harass anyone. We may remove content or accounts that do.
It is a beta
CardBox is early and changes often. Features may change or go away, and things will sometimes break. We provide CardBox as it is, and we are not liable for losses that come from using it, to the extent the law allows. If you find a problem, tell us with Report a problem.
Privacy, in plain words
When you sign in, we keep your email, name and avatar from the sign-in provider (Auth0 handles sign-in). We keep the photos you upload, the cards and values in your collection, and the corrections you make. We use this to run CardBox and to improve it. We do not sell your data.
Cards you publish, under your alias, are visible to anyone. Everything else is private to you and the people you invite to your collection.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top changes too. Using CardBox after that means you are fine with the new version.
