Front: DONRUSS DIAMOND KINGS PETE O'BRIEN Back: NO. 24 DONRUSS DIAMOND KINGS PETE O'BRIEN First Baseman CLEVELAND INDIANS There are an abundance of good hitting first basemen in the American League, but few offer the combination of hitting and fielding of Pete O'Brien. Next to Don Mattingly, O'Brien is one of the finest first basemen in the American League. The Cleveland Indians obtained O'Brien from Texas last year in a trade that sent Julio Franco to the Rangers. O'Brien, a quality power hitter and consistent run producer, gave the Indians the first baseman they had long been searching for and Franco gave the Rangers an everyday second baseman. This was one of those trades in which all parties were satisfied. In 1989 Pete hit .260 with 24 doubles, 12 home runs, 55 RBI and 83 walks. ©1989 LEAF, INC. • MADE & PRINTED IN U.S.A. • PEREZ-STEELE GALLERIES
