NO. 2 | DONRUSS DIAMOND KINGS | STEVE SAX | Second Baseman | (New York Yankees logo) | Steve Sax is one of those rare players who made the transition to playing for the New York Yankees without a hitch. He did it by playing well. Sax, a former Rookie of the Year with the Dodgers in 1982, was the most consistent player for the Yankees last season. Steve, who signed with New York as a free agent after the '88 Dodgers won the World Series, made the All-Star team and was an exemplary leadoff hitter after the Yankees traded Rickey Henderson to Oakland. If the Yankees can acquire more players with Sax's skills and attitude, they'll be on their way to winning again. He led the team with a .315 average, with 88 runs scored, 205 hits and 43 stolen bases. | 1987 1990 (crown) | (c) 1989 LEAF, INC. - MADE & PRINTED IN U.S.A. - PEREZ-STEELE GALLERIES
