DONRUSS DIAMOND KINGS JOHN FRANCO

Back:
NO. 14 / DONRUSS DIAMOND KINGS / JOHN FRANCO / Pitcher / REDS / Don't blame John Franco for the Cincinnati Reds' inability to win a pennant over the last few years. He stands right at the top of National League bullpen aces. John Franco ranks with the premier National League relief pitchers as you can generally count on him for 30 saves; he had 32 in 1989—third best in the league. Despite standing only 5-foot-10, Franco overpowers hitters with his fastball. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Franco attended the same high school as Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax and was a teammate of Frank Viola at St. John's University. / ©1989 LEAF, INC. • MADE & PRINTED IN U.S.A. • PEREZ-STEELE GALLERIES
