Front: DONRUSS DIAMOND KINGS TOMMY HERR Back: NO. 21 DONRUSS DIAMOND KINGS TOMMY HERR Second Baseman (Phillies logo) Tommy Herr has enjoyed a solid career. He simply gets the job done; he is a craftsman. A switch-hitting second baseman, Herr spent his first eight major league seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals and helped them to three National League pennants and two World Series titles. In his time with St. Louis, Herr was a stalwart at second base. At the plate he was productive. A better than average hitter, Herr often did the little things like moving runners over. He was also a threat at stealing bases, although weak knees have now slowed him. He enjoyed his finest season in 1985 when he drove in 110 runs while hitting only eight homers. The Cards traded Herr to Minnesota early in the '88 season and now he's offering the Philadelphia Phillies the same steady play at second. In 1989 he hit .287 and led the Phillies with 161 hits. ©1989 LEAF, INC • MADE & PRINTED IN U.S.A. • PEREZ-STEELE GALLERIES
